BALINGHAI BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Balinghai Beach - Tiny Balinghai Beach enclosed by craggy walls of rock, is a romantic hideaway for those who prefer quiet and solitude.

Cottages of Balinghai Beach are scattered on the rock cliff as well as the top of the rock cliff above the beach.

The resort offers drinks and food delivered to the beach in an unusual way..something you wanna try! Balinghai Beach is perfect for snorkeling with a coral garden not too far from shore.

Its amazing crisp blue waters appear so inviting for diving, as well as for snorkeling adventure.

TAMBISAAN - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Tambisaan Beach is a short distance around its rocky point. A small friendly village is nearby, where the atmosphere is sleepy until the southwest monsoon begins.

Tambisaan Beach then often becomes a docking area for boats taking passengers between Boracay and Caticlan.

Close offshore to the east of Tambisaan Beach can be seen little Crocodile island, a popular spot for divers.

BULABOG BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Bulabog Beach - Also on the eastern side of Boracay, is south of Ilig-Iligan Beach. It is separated from White Beach on the west by the narrowest part of the island.

The one kilometer long Bulabog Beach comes alive during the early months of each year, when powered by the northeast monsoon, windsufers skim through its waters. Its then truly a windsurfer's paradise.

The Boracay International Funboard Cup has been held there each year since 1988, and since 1989 has been one leg of the Southeast Asia Funboard Cup. In addition to windsurfers, kiteboarders also now enjoy the strong winds until June or July, when the southwest monsoon begins.

Bulabog Beach is often deserted, allowing you can feel "the other side" of Boracay during a walk there.

ILIG-ILIGAN BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Ilig-Iligan Beach - This beach is on the east coast of Boracay and offers several coves and caves. Inland is an impressing jungle where giant fruit bats may be seen hanging in the trees.

Local boys offer their service as guides to the Bat Caves, located a 30 minute walk inland from the beach. Ilig-iligan beach is accessible by road via motorbike, bicycle or hiking

Like most beaches on the island's east coast, access by boats depends on the weather and tide, with the sea sometimes rough during the northeast monsoon. During the southwest monsoon, however, the sea is normally calm and clear perfect for snorkeling and offshore scuba diving trips.

PUKA SHELL BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPIINES

Puka Shell Beach - Facing Carabao island on Boracay's north coast lies Yapak beach, usually called Puka Shell beach. About 1,300 meters long, this beach is the second longest beach on Boracay and a favorite picnic destination for tourists boating around the island.

But be careful swimming there. Water depth quickly increases and the current and waves on Boracay's northern beaches are much stronger than on White Beach.

Puka Shell Beach was made famous by the large number of puka shells found there. Collecting and stringing these shells into necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry was one of the first handicrafts industries of Boracay.

Today you can still find mounds on Puka Shell Beach left from the search for puka shells, and women still make and sell puka shell there.

A restaurant right on the beach serves cold drinks and snacks but more small eateries with cold drinks, and sometimes the "catch of the day" on the grill, can be found by following the road a short distance inland toward the village of Yapak.

While many go by boat, Puka Shell Beach also can be reached by hiking, and a good road makes it accessible on mountain bikes, motorbikes and tricycles.

PUNTA BUNGA - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Punta Bunga Beach and Banyugan Beach - A short distance north of Balinghai is Punta Bunga Beach. Many attractive shells maybe seen when walking there along the water. On the hillside that forms the southern border of the beach are a growing number of private houses located there for the beautiful view. Some of these houses maybe rented.

A path on this hill will take you to Balinghai Beach. At the center of the beach is a resthouse on a rocky hill overlooking the sea that serves snacks and drinks. A middle luxury resort, sprawling from the beach into the hills, occupies the northern part of the beach.

A short climb up and over the hill forming the northern border of Punta Bunga is Banyugan Beach, a secluded cove with white sand ideal for picnics. A small coconut plantation extends from behind this hills into the hills.

DINIWID BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

Diniwid Beach - Just north of White Beach is a 200 meter long Diniwid Beach. This lovely cove maybe reached by walking north along White beach at a picturesque path hewn from the cliff.

There is also a good access road from the Main road to the back of Diniwid. Much quieter than White Beach, Diniwid Beach is perfect for picnics and snorkeling

There are a few inexpensive island-style bar/restaurants and simple cottages as well as bamboo houses of unusual design. Some of this have fully equipped kitchens and are located directly on the beach. On the steep cliff that rises out of the sea on the north side of Diniwid are a luxurious resort and upscale townhouses.

WHITE BEACH - BORACAY - PHILIPPINES

White Beach - Extending along much of the island's west coast, this famous stretch of white sand is the premier beauty and the main tourist attraction of Boracay island. The white sand becomes more and more powdery as you stroll north along the beach, a result of the mild offshore current. Activity continues almost 24 hours a day in the restaurants and bars that lined the sand walkway paralleling southern and central white beach.

Early risers will sometimes meet revellers stumbling home from their night out. During the day, the beach is perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and enjoying sports of all kinds especially watersports. It is a favorite activity of tourists and residents alike, who will be found relaxing, enjoying a last swim, and sipping drinks while watching the sunset and action.

People gather spontaneously an hour before sunset in all places to play volleyball and watch the children run about and have fun. Swallows fly acrobatically along the beach, chasing insects while the sun lights the sky and clouds with marvelous colors.

At deep twilight giant fruit bats with wingspan as much as a meter are often seen along the horizon and sometimes at the White Beach flying south on their nightly migration to feed on Panay island. At night, White Beach is a favorite place for the romantic.
